1750 Plastic Navigation Buoy
Our 1750mm plastic navigation buoy is the smallest in the range to feature an integral steel core and skirt and the service exchange tower design features.
The steel skirt acts as a dampener using the natural force of the water to stabilise the buoy, while the service exchange tower is a plastic moulded component which replaces more traditional metal super structures.
All the float collars are filled with closed cell marine grade foam ensuring the buoy will retain its floatation qualities even if the hull is breached or damaged.
Ideally suited to reasonably sheltered waters for example rivers and harbours, common applications include outfall pipe marking and data collection.
The 1.75m buoy is designed to carry one 100 A/h batteries with capacity for four 20 watt solar panels and a self contained lantern. It can also be fitted with a standard moulded top mark with an Echomax 230 radar reflector giving a peak RCS of up to 24m2.
For taller lanterns an offset top mark with radar reflector can be secured in the service exchange tower.
Typical chain length 2 to 3 times depth in most circumstances. The steel core of the EM buoys is the hub to which the float collars, day mark and lifting and mooring eyes are attached. Made from grade 40 mild steel. Galvanised to BSE ISO 1461-1999. Two rotationally moulded, specially formulated extra high UV stabilised polyethylene. Foam filled with marine grade safety approved foam. These collars can be replaced either individually or as a set if damaged through a collision. This operation can be carried out without removing the buoy from its mooring. Rotationally moulded and specially formulated extra high UV stabilised polyethylene. Aluminium safety rail attached to outside of day mark. Secured to steel core by 8 x M12 316 stainless steel fixings. If required graphics can be moulded into this component. Charging system: One x 60A/h or 100A/h gel battery, up to four solar panels, one regulator housed in IP67 rated box secured to battery mounting plate. Lateral buoys only: Rotationally moulded and specially formulated extra high UV stabilised polyethylene. The Echomax 230 radar reflector is moulded in. The radar reflector gives a peak RCS of up to 24m2. Two coats of ZINGA on steel core substantially increases service life. To achieve a moored float height of 340mm (i.e. 50% of the float collar height at high tide,) the floated mooring weight at high tide should be approximately 50% of the reserve buoyancy.
