3000 Plastic Navigation Buoy

This is the first of three types of 3000mm plastic navigation buoy in the Corilla Marine range and is our largest pillar buoy. Suited to open, unsheltered water, it can withstand harsh environments and depths of upto 20-50 Mtrs. Constructed from four individual float collars fixed to a central galvanised steel core, the 3m diameter buoy is intended to remain at sea for considerable lengths of time and like all our marine buoys, maintenance, cleaning and repairs can be largely be carried out while the buoy is on the water. All the float collars are filled with closed cell marine grade foam ensuring the buoy will retain its floatation qualities even if the hull is breached or damaged. Capable of carrying two 200 a/hr battery and four 85 watt solar panels or a self contained lantern. It is also fitted with an Echomax 305 radar reflector fitted as standard giving a peak RCS of up to 74Mtr. Sq.

Steel Core

The steel core of the EM buoys is the hub to which the float collars, day mark and lifting and mooring eyes are attached. Made from grade 40 mild steel. Galvanised to BSE ISO 1461-1999.

Float Collars

Four rotationally moulded, specially formulated extra high UV stabilised polyethylene. Foam filled with marine grade safety approved foam. These collars can be replaced either individually or as a set if damaged through a collision. This operation can be carried out without removing the buoy from its mooring.

Service Exchange Tower (SET)

Rotationally moulded specially formulated extra high UV stabilised polyethylene, it has the capacity to take one or two 200 A/h batteries and a junction box (to IP67 rated). Plugs are all Bulgin Buccaneer 400 mini series IP67 rated. If required graphics can be moulded into this component.

Battery Box

Resin coated aluminium and steel box secured to the top plate of the steel core and housed within the polythene battery section. Two batteries are located within the box. The box is designed so a second box can be stacked to give four batteries. A lockable hatch allows easy access to batteries.

Lantern

Any suitable preferred manufacturer compatible lantern can be fitted.

Optional Extras

Two coats of ZINGA on steel core substantially increases service life; LD marks into daymark; Racon and/or wave generator.

Moorings

To achieve a moored height of 400mm above datum at high tide, the floated mooring weight should be approximately 25% of the reserve buoyancy.
